Migrate from version 2 to version 4

We were using version 2 (something) in a small PC and we now got a version 4 license and will be installed in a new big (server) PC. Is it possible to backup the configuration from version 2 and restore it at version 4???

    no direct upgrade is possible, V2 backup files are not compatible with V4, you need to take the extra step via V3 if you want to keep the config. You could also use the migration kit that takes you from V2 to V3 and then the migration kit from V3 to V4, this way you would keep your config.

    I just finish. What I did was to do a backup in ASTARO2 and do a bit of hacking on it. I got bzip2 and tar and access the files inside de abf. Then I did the same in ASTARO4 to compare files and I found that gnetdata netdata servicedata gservicedata packetfilter and localusers.ini are compatible and in my case there was the most of the typing so I dia a basis configuration in ASTARO4 and then I got those files from the ASTARO2 abf insert them into the ASTARO4 abf and then restore that "new" abf into ASTARO4.

    Then I need to access SSH to ASTARO4 to setup the owner for the files since that is lost in the process I describe.

    Finnaly I enter the data for the files not compatibles that I was using, basically DNAT/SNAT/MASQ data and routes data.

    And reboot.

    Now is working. BUT everyone pay attention be very careful following this way to do migration because is very easy to left a not working configuration in the ASTARO4 due to errors and inconsistences in the files. Do it on your own risk.
