SMTP Relay

Okies, well I noticed none of the logs or the backup files are being emailed to me, and thats because I need to enter my mailserver into the smart host on this box, but where do I do that ? I have found the SMTP component, but is that just for SMTP Proxies or SMTP relay ??

    If you don't plan on using the smtp relay, then enable it, configure where you want your mail to go, and then disable it. Mail generated *on* the ASL will then go where you want it to. Example: If you have domain.com, and an internal mail server on 1.2.3.4, tell the smtp proxy that this is the case, and mail to your admin address (as aupplied by you in "Settings") will go to your mail server. If you only use your ISPs mail server with a POP3 account, and you are having mail sent to a known working account, you shouldn't need to do anything to the firewall, as it will do the MX lookup and deliver the mail correctly.

    I have my own in-house mailserver (POP3, IMAP, SMTP etc)

    So I simply enable the SMTP service, change the details needed and disabled it again ? Will it continue to retain my settings ?

    Btw, for some reason the gateway settings that I put in (which point to my router) is resolving the DNS and not my internal DNS server... is it possible to change this as I foresee it causing a problem with SMTP relay internally
