Toshiba Magnia ?

Hi Group,

today i received an email, announcing Toshibas Magnia Server with ASL.

Does this mean, i can buy a cheap magnia server and just install ASL on it and everything will be fine ?

Will there be a special version of ASL ?

I too wanted to use an SG20 with ASL. Here's what I discovered:

1) The machine has no video. There's an AGP port on the motherboard but no way to plug in a card.

2) There is a PS/2 keyboard connector but you have to disassemble the machine to get to it.

3) There is no serial port so you can't run a serial console.

4) There is no way to add additional ethernet ports beyond the existing two.

I ended up selling the machines I had bought (real cheap). Life is too short to waste any of it on badly designed hardware.

You could iinstall ASL on the Magnia's HD by plugging it into another computer, Then when you plug it in the magnia you can use the serial to finish the setup.
