Astaro 4.008 suddenly stops on Internal

I have a small issue that I have been unable to track down. I have ASL running on a PIII 600 with 128mb and 6GB HD. every 2nd day the Internal network stops responding at about 10pm and then starts up about 15 minutes later. I looked for logs with any event that would be out of place and found nothing. I am running the HTTP proxy. The DSL line was up and running, I could get out in the DMZ side but not the internal network. Has anyone else seen this happen?

I've seen this kind of behavior with certain types of $5 Ethernet cards. There is nothing in dmesg? Have you tried doing a tcpdump on the internal interface when this is happening?

No I haven't but the NIC is a 3com 905CTX it comes up as the cyclone. If that's it I'll change it out with a different one.
