I'm running ASL 4.007, although my problem has manifested itself on multiple 4.x versions. Symptoms are wide ranging (so much so that I simply rebuilt the firewall the first time it happened), ranging from inability to login to webadmin to failure to assume the primary role in a HA cluster when the other machine fails. Inability to login to webadmin was the most immediately noticable effect however (as pptp sessions and routing still took place normally).
Doing a df, it was immediately apparent that the root partition was at 100%, and a search for large files turned up a file called /tmp/wfedbg, which for some reason had reached 310MB. A lack of disk space explained the obvious effects (ie not being able to log in was due to the inability to write webadmin's session file). After copying this off to another linux box, and then emptying the file, login was possible, although I'm not sure all the residual effects are gone.
My questions at this point are 1) Why is this file located on one of the smaller partitions on the machine when the contents seem as if it should reside with exim, and 2) why did it get to 310mb (is something not supposed to monitor this file, other than myself)?
