Shutdown with a command

Hello,

Is-it possible to send, on a internal network, a command line without needed to connect to the https windows, for shutdown the ASL.

The reason is, when there is a storm outside (I mean a weather one, not on the outside interface lol) I want to cut easy the ASL router computer, and specially when it's not me that at home. A sort of Windows Icon that it's possible to click to send the shutdown without restarting.

    theoretically yes, in practice no.

    The risk  of crashing version 4 is relatively low since it uses a journalling
    filesystem - EXT3.

    I have experienced problems with EXT2 which was used in Version 2 of our
    solution Astaro Security Linux but never with version 4.

    You can send a "halt" or "poweroff" command via the command line (ssh access required), but that will not be the solution you are searching for. The ASL is designed to not power-off the machine, so it is easier to detect in your server room (since it is beeping). And, besides that, powering off won't save any computer from lightning damage. How about buying an UPS solution which protects your ASL?
