Really don't know if it's an issue or not, but i dislike the fact that Unix/Linux (and therefore also ASL) only checks the first 8 chars. of the passwords.
Isn't there some MD5 "workaround" out there??
(think i read something about that a while back)
I usually work with Windows, and are used to an OS that respects my passwords...

(not counting win9x)
Any comments on this?
Am i right in my assumtion that if i'm able to choose from 20 different chars. and the length is 8 chars. i'm able to choose from 512000000000 different passwords.
And just by adding 1 (one) more char. to the length i'm up against 10240000000000 different passwords!?!
I'd say that is a significant increase in security, wouldn't you?
Just wondering....
