Config examples

Hi I am currently using Smoothwall but now i require VPN i am looking to move over to astaro (V3.2), after installatioin the config is totaly different to smoothwall i dont seem to find any good examples of basic configuration to get me started.

    Hi,

    There are some FAQs over at docs.astaro.org

    Personally, I think the way astaro is organised is a lot more intuitive than smoothwall/ipcop. Getting a smoothwall like config is quite easy (allow everything going out - block everything coming in) - the nice part of it is refining these rules.

    Thanks, but i dont seem to be able to find FAQ just the main manual which dosn't show any working examples. if not how do i set up astaro to give my LAN access to the intenet (port80)

    You need atleast 2 rules for this.
    Under Packet Filter, Rules, create the following:

    From (client):             To (server):     Service:     Action:
    Internal_Network_     Any                 DNS            Allow
    Internal_Network_     Any                 HTTP          Allow
      
    also: remember to to switch them on (green light)
