I have been using checkpoint firewalls for a number of years and recently switched several checkpoint boxes over to Astaro for roughly the cost of one years checkpoint maintenance. I find that the things I miss most are in the definitions. First of all the network definitions In my opinion should have a drop down box to choose host, network or ip range. and if you choose to define a host which is what alot of my definitions are you should be presented with a button beside the hostname box to do a look up and grab the ip address from the hostname. This would make my day to day life so much simpler. I work with enough hosts (A class B) that I often forget ip addresses for some machines but remember their hostnames easily because in my network they are defined by network segment and service group names.
