Hangs after install

I installed on a P  233 mmx 64 MB - 3 GB with 2 different network cards (pci 100mb). after the install I am asked to remove the CD and re-boot. doing that the system comes up until it says:
freeing unused kernel memory: 76k free
and then it stops there - no prompt, no console nothing [:(]
any pointers anyone?

    If you would search a bit through users board, you would realize, that ASL version 4 does not support PI (yet).

    thank you for your reply.
    however it would be hard to find P1 or PI because minimum search string length is 3 chars - I was trying to find wireless ap - no luck either :-)
    anyway - why would I need better than P1 for a simple firewall?
    I have now  amd K100 with fli4l running great.
    makes no sense to me -

    I must agree with you, that there is no need for stronger computer. But this is the fact! Version ASL 4 is not working on PI and K6 CPU PCs. Astaro promissed support also for this CPUs, but so far nothing but promisses.

    oh [censored]!!!! UI had just moved everything to a K6 500 with also 64 MB RAM which hangs at EXACTLY the same spot.
    I am a bit suspicious that linux itself hangs at a atage so early during boot. also: the software checks the system at install time - why not immediately inform the user that this cpu will not work???
