connections closed by system...

Hi
I have an astaro box (version 4.0) connected to an adsl modem. The adsl modem (alcatel speedtouch) sends everything right to the asl box, but ssh connections from the inside to the outside close themselves when being idl for 1 ~ 2 minutes.
I have configured the adsl as normal static network interface, is this correct or should I choose one of the other connection type (pppoe or so)
In the asl box there are 3 realtek 8139 cards, the driver it uses is rtl8139, i saw something about the rtl8139too driver in a message, but this one sn't included with astaro?

    the driver is on the box, but the name is 8139too.o
    is your kernel log indicating problems with the driver/NIC?

    No i don't get anything in the logs [:)]
    But when I use my desktop PC and try to download somewhat bigger file (10 MB and higher), from dmz to desktop or upload from desktop to inter or intranet, the data throughput of the desktop NIC hangs the asl box, restarting the NICS on the asl doesn't help, just rebooting does
