The power user home license is Unlimited I think. However you have to be an active support provider in the forums to get one.
All licenses are based on an "honor" system I think, so you can exceed the number you are licensed for but you will have evil nightmares all the time as guilt eats you up.
Does anyone know what is required to be considered an active support provider? (I am a home user with 26 computers of all makes and models, which I use to keep myself diverse in experience while being employeed in a MS only shop)
Visit the Astaro website and go to Products/Licensing (Section: Astaro Security Linux for Home Use)
To become a Power user you need to give active assistance and support to the other members of the board. Share your knowledge with the others to help the community growing fast (and faster) [;)]
Hmmm... Should I take that as sarcasm? Anyways, thanks for the response. I have been waiting for astaro to have the dynamic front leg before I started using the product, and really didn't give much intrerest to until recently. I have been using, smoothwall for the most part, and am quite pleased with their product, which does exactly what it is supposed to do (yes props to Richard Morrell), but was able to get a few static IP addresses at home of recent, and as such came back looking at Astaro, and find that I have missed the fact that they had incorporated dynamic support. (as well as now have my raptor, and checkpoint NG firewalls up and running again).
Smoothwall is very good at what it does. A friend of mine swears by it and is reluctant to move to Astaro. In my opinion Smoothwall's great till you want to do something a little different and then you hit a wall. Astaro's VPN and proxy services are fantastic, the whole product offers much more granular control over all aspects and with version 4 shows that ASL is evolving nicely. That said, I have not looked at any of the pay stuff that Smoothwall does, only the free version. I'd never swap my home user license of ASL for Smoothwall free edition though.
