Greetings All!

Is there any way in preventing or at the very least limiting the amount of popups coming through the firewall? I thought I saw something about preventing Popups through Astaro.

Forgive me if this is already covered elsewhere, I wasn't able to find any mention of it in the forums.

    Do you mean web page popups or messenger service popups ? Do you have a web page open when  they happen ? If so there are many popup killers at www.tucows.com but if it's the messener service you need to turn off the messenger service on your server or block that port.   kill that port

    These would be the popups you get when veiwing web pages. They seem to be getting worse by the day. I'll have to check my browser which is Mozilla 1.2.1 and see if there is an option to disable them like there is in Opera's web browser. I'm running a mixed environment here of Windows XP(Microsoft Explorer), Linux (Mozilla) and Solaris (Netscape.)

    Yes, Mozilla has that feature. The 1.3b version that was just released has a seperate manager for popup sites.
    you could also put a copy of privoxy on your asl box (privoxy used to be junkbuster) and block ads, cookies, javascript crap and popups.
