I set accounting to watch traffic on the internal interface of the firewall-machine. As this machine is also my DSL-Router I thought to catch all traffic that way, because what goes through the external interface has also to go through the internal interface first. But I wonder about the values I get when I view the reporting.
They seem to be much to low. It seems that I only get the traffic from internal network to the ASL itself, but not what is routed to the external interface.
What Interfaces do I need to add to not get traffic counted twice but get ALL traffic from my network through the router to the internet? When using the extarnel interface this will work for sure, but I will lose some information by nat-translation.
It seems I don't see the wood because of all the trees :-) (sounds funny in english:-)
