connection integrity...

Can astaro somehow monitor connection integrity?  I want to have astaro log times for me when my ISP drops my connection momentarily, and when the service comes back.  It has been happening way too much and I want some logs to show the times when I compare it to others w/my ISP in the area to show the disconnection times (it happens to others I know on the network at the same exact time when it happens)

Anyway, if Astaro has any features to log connection disconnections / reconnections to my ISP, that would be great.

    Is this ADSL?  If you are getting disconnected and when back up you have a new IP then this feature might be possible some time.  A workaround could be  ddclient that mails you when it can't update the DNS.

    But the disconnection could be further up the line and ASL wouldn't know except it can't get past a certain point.

    Better solution might be a box behind ASL that monitors a point at the ISP and then notifies you when it can't get there.

    I'm on cable.  I had kinda forgotton about this thread because I'm hot on the trail of proving it's the ISP (seems others around the area on this provider get the same interruption problems).  My IP has been the same for months now, so that's not it.  Currently I have a box behind ASL running ping plotter to a 3rd hop on my network and it logs when disconnections happen.  I'm pretty sure ASL is NOT a problem in any of this, but I can't be for certain yet.  Anyway, I'm monitoring my connectivity from a box behind ASL now.
