locked my self out of astaro

login as root on console and remove your DNAT rule with joe or vi in /etc/wfe/conf/natmasq (ASL 3.2 and ASL 3.3).

thanks for the reply.  I thought i had access to console, but apparently I've never set the password via webadmin and thought it was already set during install (like in 2.x).  

Is there a default password that I can use? i've tried root/root and that did not work.  The console is the only interface I can use because both network interfaces are denying connections.  thank you

i'm downloading a linux distro bootdisk i found and will try to follow the guide in  this post 

any suggestions?  or maybe there's a bootdisk designed for astaro that i can use?

ok, UPDATE:

i'm using a grub bootdisk to try to get into single user shell.  I've mounted the hd with 'root (hd0,0) and it recog. the reiser fs.  but after this i'm not sure what else ther eis to do...would sombody please advise? thank you

note: i am attempting to reset root password (it was never set via webadmin interface, which is not accesible anymore)

Try booting another distrib from a CD (slack is good for me in these matters), mount the disc containing /etc in /mnt , open /etc/shadow for editing, delete the password field from root, save, and boot astaro. Just type root for user at the console, and voilà.
