Email Notification - how transported?

Am evaluating ASL. Looks excellent and the email notification feature is cool, but how does it work? I have not specified any mail servers anywhere but it still manages to send me the mails. The mail routing appears to be via localhost 127.0.0.1 straight to our corporate gateway server.

Can someone enlighten me please.

Are you wondering if the firewall identified you somehow and managed to dig up an email address on you from a google search?

Check again; I am sure you gave it your address.

Hi, Yes I gave ASL my email address, but I want to understand how a message from ASL is transported. Normally, it is necessary to supply a SMTP server + username + Password. Perhaps Astaro provide this service automatically, but there is nothing in the email routing which points to this AFAIK..

Correct me if I'm wrong, but Im pretty sure Astaro sends the message using its own SMTP 'server.'

ASL has its own SMTP engine and does DNS host/MX lookups as necessary.
