I can't get ddclient or ez-ipupdate to work on my Astaro 3.209 box.  

Am I just doing something wrong here or is there a reason why it doesn't want to update my IP address on the server?

Anyone else had trouble with this?

    I am using the method posted by someone a while back that I found in the archives.

    They had a startup script that called it from /var/ez-ipupdate, but I can't even get it to update when I do it manually, so I have some issues somewhere.

    Any ideas?

    have you set a packet rule which allows the port for the refresh ping of the client?
    dont know which one it is right now, cause i am doing it a different way but start the client and do a netstat -n

    Hmm.  I was under the impression that we could make any outbound communication that we wanted as long as the packet filter allowed it. 

    I have an any -> any rule at the moment just for this purpose, but I am still unable to make a connection for some reason.  The error comes back saying that the connection to members.dyndns.org:80 failed, but over http the connection works fine (i.e., I can go to the website).

    I just don't see how Astaro would be blocking any outgoing communication if I have an any -> any rule set up; I thought it was only desired unsolicited incoming traffic that needed special rules (DNAT).
