how to allow pvt add. to work

hi

i just installed asl 3.2.
this network i have setup behind a proxy on a lan with two pc.
problem is i can't change my ip address. 
so i have two card one with 172.16.2.149 and other 192.168.2.100. now my question is will they work.
after setting asl i enabled http and dns proxy and the client is browsing EVEN there is NO packet filter enabled. i tried putting drop packet filter but no use client can still browse.

any body here pl. give me some input.

    Hi Lalaji,

    1. If i understand right, then 172.16.2.149 is your external adress on the ASL and 192.168.2.100 is the internal adress on the ASL ?!?
    So if you setup Masqerading from internal network to internet, then everything should work fine.

    2. You have to decide to EITHER control your outgoing HTTP traffic via PacketFilter Rules OR via HTTP-Proxy.
    If you use PacketFilter Rules, you have to setup the Clients/Network which should be able to browsw the internet like for example
    IntranetPC1 - HTTP - Any - Allow
    Then you don't need to do anything in your browser.
    If you use HTTP proxy, then it depends on the Clients/Networks you are inserting to the allowed networks in the Proxy configuration.
    You also need to insert your ASL's internal IP plus port number 8080 in your browsers configuration for example IE:
    /Tools /Internet Options /Connections /Lan Settings
    --> Use a proxy server for your LAN

    I would recommend you to use the HTTP proxy, because then you have no direct connection to the Internet and you also save traffic by using the proxy cache.
