Having time issues

Ok my problem I think is I accidently told astaro at install time that my hwclock is set to GMT.  Well it is not.  So with each reboot the systime is set back a few hours.

How can I fix this.  Without resetting the hwclock to GMT or reinstalling astaro.

    timezone is selected.  That is not the problem.  The problem is astaro thinks my hardware clock is set to GMT when it is not.  So when it reboots it subtracts 4 hours from the hardware clock.

    I have temp. solved this problem by setting the hwclock to GMT.  However there must be a way to change this setting in astaro.

    Try setting the timezone to your area and use External_Interface as NTP Server.

    It works fine for me, but this could be becuase I use dynamic IP on the External card.

    Ok one more time.  The problem is not that the time is off.  It is that at reboot time it gets set back by my timezone offset.

    This is because astaro thinks my HARDWARE CLOCK is set to GMT, when it is not.

    How can I tell astaro that the HARDWARE CLOCK is not set to GMT?

    There are two clocks, the system clock and the hardware clock.  The system clock is set to the hardware clock at boot time, if the system thinks the hwclock is GMT then it sets the system time with the approiate offset.  If astaro knows that the hwclock is NOT set to GMT (this is an option) then it does not perform the offset.

    What I want to know is how to tell astaro that my hwclock is not set to GMT.

    look on the BIOS time setting of your FW.

    Ok it does not have to do with the BIOS either.

    Its a setting that is defined when you install Astaro.  It asks you if your hardware clock is set to GMT.  And this defines how astaro handles setting the system clock to the hardware clock and vice versus.  Somewhere in the OS is a way to change this.  I have done it in other Linux installs.  Astaro handles this a little differently and I can not find the setting.

    if you could not set the system settings so what is your matter not to set your hw-clock to GMT permanaently to resolve the problem ?

    Nothing wrong with that, I just know there is a way to change the system settings, but can not find it.  In fact I have set the hw-clock to GMT, until I find a way to change the system settings.
