PPPoE - General Question

I'm running ASL 3.209. I've noticed that my system (AMD K6-300/128MB with two Kingston 10mbps PCI NICs) sometimes takes over an hour to re-establish connection if for some reason my aDSL line goes down. I've tried restarting the modem to no avail. If I remove the logical pppoe interface and re-create it the link will generally come up in a few seconds.  Is this a known issue with a working fix, or do I need to dig a bit deeper?

    I think there are problems in Astaro still with this, it does seem to take a while to reconnect.

    The problem you are having though is similar to one I have, whether the firewall box is plugged in or not.  If I lose my xDSL connection my D-Link ADSL modem takes FOREVER to reconnect, sometimes like 4 hours !

    This seems to have been fixed now and I believe my ISP might have had some issues.  I pulled the plug on my xDSL the other night and reconnected within 1 minute.  As I said earlier, it made no difference if the D-Link modem was connected to Astaro or not.

    Astaro takes a while to detect the modem going online but usually this is a matter of minutes not hours.
