I experience the same problem. I have two NIC's with two different netw associated (using DHCP) on the "LAN" side. Every now and then (1-2 days) I lose IP-address on the machines on the networks, one or both netw, and the DHCP demon doesn't seem to respond. If I disconnect cable from NIC during night, I never get an IP address by DHCP, even though the network shows UP in the Astaro GUI. If I start the GUI, opens DHCP settings and chooses the network that is not working, it (DHCP demon) starts working again and I start getting IP-addresses on that Netw/NIC.
Yeah, I also lost a NIC the other day. I thought it was a hardware problem. I took apart the PC, reinserted the card in the slot (I didn't have a spare available at the location) and rebooted. My NIC was back in the configuration.
But reading your posts, I begin to suspect it was not a hardware problem after all.
Had the same happen to me. rebooted and I stil could not connect. Looked at the console and saw the same message 'No IP on Eth0'. I went into the interface vie webadmin and made a change and then it came back up. It looks like ASL has shut down the interface even though the status showed it up. This happened around the time the firewall was under attach by 70 or so addresses bombarding the firewall on udp port 1812.
It may be a problem with the PCI bus on the system. I had a hard drive on a ASL box that kept failing after the third drive in two months I replaced the Motherboard. The vendor could not beleive what I told him so he tested it in a w2k system and sure enough the drive shut down and the bios would not recognize it.
