VPN DNS proxy problem

Hi,
I have problem accessing local web server from remote office over VPN

configuration:

We have remote office connected to main office through VPN, with ASL3.2 on both sides.
On both sides ASL is used for connecting to internet from local clients,
DNS proxy forwarding name servers on both sides are set to ISP DNS server.

In main office we have internal DNS server for our.domain.
Clients from remote office should access to WEB server in main office: web.our.domain.

We added IP address of internal web server (web.our.domain) in hosts file on remote office clients.

problem:
Clients from remote office can access local web server normally (with web.our.domain address).
After a week, or so, clients from remote office receive DNS error message form main office's ASL:
(Unable to determine IP address from host name for web.our.domain). 

After restart of ASL in main office, clients can access web server properly, again.

any ideas?

    Very strange..  The remote office computers should look first to the hosts file to resolve the ip.  You have the remote office's computers using the remote office's ASL as the DNS server, right?  The reboot fixing the problem seems to point to a problem with the DNS cache on the remote office ASL.  Perhaps a static entry in the remote office's ASL for your web server will help.  Edit /etc/hosts and add the web server.
