Intermittent Connection Losses

Hello all, I was wondering if anyone has experience the problem I've been having.  I reinstalled astaro upwards of 10+ times trying to resolve this issue. Basically, about once a day, all clients behind the firewall lose access to the internet. It usually lasts anywhere from 5 minutes to an hour before suddenly they are able to access the internet again. Also, during this time, I am unable to connect to the VPN, however I am able to successfully ping it's external IP from an outside network. Has anyone experience this problem, and/or know of a fix?  Thanks for your help!

    this behaviour can have several reasons:

     
    • spoof protection: have a look at the kernel log if you find the expression SPOOF, search for spoof here to solve the problem 
       
    • you have configured an external gateway on the internal or DMZ interface 

       
    • you DNAT the real IP (IP of the real interface, not aliases) to an internal server/device
