I have only 1 extra machine to put this on.  The machine is currently running apache/php and mysql.  Does this allow me to run that or is this simply a firewall?  It looks really nice and I would really like to run it, but I can't if it doesn't allow those 2 things to run....

    Astaro is just a firewall/router distro. You can download the plus pack and compile other programs on to the server....  however this tends to break the level of security that astaro offers.(Not recomended)  When you install it wipes the harddrive and partitions the drive to its needs...  so you would lose your current appache,php,mysql setup.   [:(]  

    You can build a third machine for cheap...   I have found old p2 systems in the paper and on ebay for less $100
