Need to change notification return address

Hi,

I NEED to change the return address for notifications from ASL:

do-not-reply@fw-notify.net

according to spamassassin:
reject=451 4.1.8 Domain of sender address do-not-reply@fw-notify.net does not resolve

Any mailserver which uses any form of sender address verification (including ASL I think, lol) would probably have this problem.

How can I set this address myself?

ISTM that astaro's secondary DNS server is giving BLANK RESPONSES for querys for this hostname!

check /var/chroot-smtp/etc/exiscanv2.cf and /var/chroot-smtp/etc/exiscanv2.cf-default

Andy, thanks for that info, but unfortunately, that file doesn't seem to contain that email address.

I'll try using find and grep to figure it out.

I'm not finding it.

Would someone please tell us where this address gets set, and / or fix your DNS server?

hi barry,

the DNS is ok. There is no host called "fw-notify.net", but that domain has a MX record pointing to "deadmail.fw-notify.net", which exists.

That host gives a "hard" 5xx error on connection.

Your problem is probably with the sender address verfification of other hosts who do not only look for the MX but call back to it and see if it works.

I will modify the server next week to cheat these checks too.
