I own and operate a small computer shop. I just got thru repairing (6) d.o.a computers from a disastrous infection of the klez.h worm and other malicious viri. After paying the hefty bill for labor, my customer asked me about a firewall. She is a foster parent with (5) children in her care and each have their own computers for home schooling that are networked with a simple seven port switch with dsl internet access. I immdiately told her of this great software that could save her money for the additional ip's and protect her: Astaro Security Linux. I built her a simple pII machine with some spare parts and installed the latest version of ASL. At her home I went online and registered for her. I then downloaded the Power User application form. I brought my fax machine to fax the form to the number listed on the application.
I am relaying this information b/c she has yet to receive an e-mail from anyone on this issue. Any reason? I did notice that the application asked for a UBB# which she left blank. She knows how to use a computer, but is very unfamiliar with networking and would not be able to contibute anything to your message board, these being words from the horse's mouth.
I guess in the end my question would be: does she qualify for a power user license key that would allow her to use multiple nic's beyond the office version? She really needs it.
