isdn backup

Someone can help me?
I'm trying to set up a backup isdn internet access both on als2 and als3.
I've a cisco xdsl router and a cisco 761 isdn router.I can't modify  xdsl router configuration (isp property) and i've no idea how to set up a backup routing on isdn device

    Hey Giancarlo,

    I really don't have a ready-to-run solution for you, but hang on and join my little thought experiment... :-)

    If you put three NICs in your ASL, where one is internal, two is default (DSL) gateway and three is connected to the Cisco.

    If you add the interface connected to the Cisco as a second gateway, with a metric higher than the default gateway (2 perhaps?), I'd guess that ASL would only route through the Cisco if the default gateway (DSL) was down.

    If there are any reasons why this won't work, feel free to correct me at any time. 

    A second solution may be to script something that goes into a cron job on the ASL. It could for instance ping the external gateway (your provider) every minute, and if 4-5 minutes goes by without a ping response, the script could automagically define the default gateway to be the NIC connected to the Cisco ISDN box.

    You got me thinking here, and I'll see if I can come up with something that works. I too would like to have an ISDN backup. Perhaps not for surfing, but at least for a quick connect to let through an error message to my GPRS cellular.

    Thanx, but i've some problem.
    In astaro 3 i'can set multiple gateway and priority, in astaro 2 i can't set any other gateway except the default. I try to set up a network definition any2, the same of any (0.0.0.0) and in routing definition a static route on second gateway...bad idea: any2 is not a group i can route... i don't know why.

    Any suggestion?
    Actually my network is 1 dsl ( 4 pubblic ip), 1 isdn backup, 1 dmz, 1 internal, 1 on another private lan. So 5 network card...to much expensive to use astaro3.....
