Power Home User - Who is that?

It was clear that someone would ask that question at some point.  [:)] 

Q: What is Astaro's definition of a home power user ?

A: Someone who actively uses ASL in a private, non-commercial network environment, exceeding the usual specs of Joe "AOL" Sixpack's crossover DSL cable. Ideally, the person would have in-depth technical knowledge, be able to locate and read (!) a log file and even cut and paste from it.

Ok, sarcasm aside. There is not obligation to post here. What will prolly not work, however, is the "register fresh user and send fax on same day" method. Looking at your ID, you must have signed up quite some time ago. And from the wording of your posting, I can make out that your IQ should be well over average. So ... why not send that fax in ?

    Hi!

    I've used Astaro 2.0x now for a while, and I'm really pleased with the ease and flexibility of the product. 
    But, when I thought about upgrading the hardware on the firewall (from P166 to Cel. 366), and at the same time upgrading to 3.x, I realized that the licencing had changed quite a bit.

    1- Due to the fact that 10 Mbit internet is cheap where I live, I host lan-parties from time to time. That way, I have over 10 computers behind a firewall. The free licencing is not an option then.
    2- I have 9 computers behind the firewall on "normal" days, so paying for a "full-fledged" version is not a question. It's not going to happen.
    3- VPN would be nice to try ... without the need of configuring for 3 days..

    Then I saw the power home user licence. "Great, I'll take that" was my first thought .. But then I have to be active at the forum... As I do second-level support at work, that is an option I'd rather be without.. (And, yes, all the jokes you've heard about supportcalls is TRUE, people are plain silly from time to time)

    So, my question is, when do an individual qualify for a power home user licence? .. when he/she has posted 50 posts? ... 100? ..
    And, you can't possibly check every post of every letter you get.. so I guess I can post a zillion "haha", "good one", "me too" or "I can't reproduce that problem" posts, and magically get the power home user licence.. without really helping anyone.

    I guess I could try to send you a fax, telling you that I'm a REALLY nice guy, but from my knowledge, that doesn't count here :-)

    ... I guess I have to get active in here then..
