How many SMTP domains could ASL handle?

I want to use ASL to replace an NAI Webshield appliance. However, the webshield currently does SMTP virus-scanning for about 90 domains. Do you guys think ASL could handle this? 

We are going to start a test-phase in the next couple of days, and if the firewall performs well without the Anti-virus enabled, then the client will definately be purchasing an Enterprise license. Might even be able to convince them to go with HA as well. 

The pilot is going to run on 2.x for now, until 3.x seems to be a bit more stable.

    The number of domains is completely uncritical, it's the total mail volume that counts.

    Also, 2.x and 3.2 are completely different in regard to the SMTP proxy, since qmail was replaced with exim.

    3.2's virus scanning is up to 500% faster than 2.x, depending on message size. It can also be tweaked to be even faster at the expense of RAM.

    If the SMTP proxy is the main feature to be used, you should go with 3.2 ..
