syslogd: cannot create /var/chroot-smtp/dev/log: No space left on device

This errormessage occurs during boot-process and later during normal work.

As the df command says: there is enough space on the device.

df :    
                     1K-blocks      used      available
/dev/hda5     945004     496980        400020    /var/chroot-smtp

What's going on ?

    Is this version 2.xx ?

    The partition has probably run out of inodes (many small files). Which sub-version do you run ?

    Please update to the latest 2.xx release, it will delete timed-out emails automatically.

    We use version 2.0.

    I've deleted a few files in the directory .../qmail/info/0.
    Now I can create files again.

    Where can I get the newest release? 
    Or is it better to version 3.x.
    We've a license with 1 year update support.
