No "-" allowed in names (ASL 3.200)

Hi all.

We are just testing the ASL 3.200. We imported a backup of the older version 2.025 and imported it to 3.200. After checking the configuration we experienced the problem that we cant rename some devices and hostnames which contain a "-" in its name. All interfaces of the ASL box itselfs got a "-" in the name, e.g. gw-inet.domainname.de. Now its only allowed to have letters, numbers and underscores in the name. Is this a bug or a feature? So, we don´t want to go through our company and have to reconfigure all clients to fit the new "name policy".

    I noticed in the conversion on a test machine that all of my "-" characters were translated to _45_ as well. Unfortunately, I used quite a bit of them as well, along with spaces.

    I suppose it may be faster for me to edit all files in /etc/wfe/conf replacing "-"'s and " "'s with "_"'s, crossing fingers that all is correct in the end :-) 

    Seems like the migration tool could be a tad smarter on this. Then again, I'm happy at this point we have a migration tool at all. But what disapoints me is that I don't have the ability to rename some of the things affected by this w/o doing it manually (i.e. interface names).

    Hiho.

    We´ve got the same problem here. Some names could be changed, some not. We have to change our zone files for all domains now, cause we have a lot of machines with "-" in the name. As described above all interface names of the firewall contain a "-" as well.

    So, any statement from Astaro about this? Will this issue be fixed?
