ASL3.200 issues

A few problems I noticed with asl3.200:

1  NS Config
The DNS zone files are missing a dot after the email address in th soa record.
Making the contact email show up as 
 
quote:
responsible mail addr = fwadmin.domain.tld.0.0.127.in-addr.arpa

or something like that, while it should've been fwadmin.domain.tld

2: Kernel/Firewall logging
Sometimes the kernel/firewall loging drops messages to console (tty1). Filling it with several lines of (in my case) UDP Drop's.

3:
After first restart it wouldnt network, and started bitching about "No IP on eth0." Another restart and it worked fine again, except it dropped alot of kernel/firewall UDP drops to console and kept echoing the internal ip several times.

    thx for the report!
     
    1) is a bug an got number ID109 in our bugtracking system (whithin the next days you will find this number in the KnownIssue file)
     
    2) if the MiddleWare restarts syslogd the output of klogd (or printk) will be dropped on the active console. This is not nice but not an error and should happen only very rare.
     
    3) while the Middleware is booting is tooks some seconds to set the config of eth0. In the meantime there is no IP on eth0 - thats correct.
    Whats your hardware (CPU performance)? Normally it should be ready in seconds without a drop on console...
     
     
    The packet filter drops on console saying that the IP filtering is working (during startup at least the default policy DROP) but there is no syslog daemon which will collect this messages.

    Other bugs that need to be fixed...

    1. The left hand side menu are not links. THis does not look good, and decreases the usability. Also when I am setting a box up I often do an "Open in New Window" so that I can see two pages at once.

    2. SPeed is a problem... The user interface is too slow

    3. I went to delete a NAT rule, and the next rule then appeared so I could edit it. This is wrong.

    4. A RENAME NAT NAME would be nice.

    5. Renaming an network (etc) that is used in a NAT would be nice. I needed to do it, and it was easiset to do it behind the scenes.

    The machine is a AMD K6-2 400Mhz, 64MB RAM.
    The time it complained abot no ip I waited quite a while before restarting, and after the restart it went up faily fast.
