Internal LAN to DMZ browsing - help please

I've got ASL2.023 running with 3 interfaces - internal, external and DMZ. Allowing all services and PCs in both directions between the DMZ and the internal interfaces, I cannot browse using Windows Network Neighbourhood. I've tried adding static routes to the servers and the PCs, adding LMHOSTS and HOSTS files to the servers and the PCs, but nothing seems to work.

I even added WINS to the NT server in the DMZ, still nothing.

Does anyone have any ideas ?

Thanks,

Mike

  • I don't think you understand the point of a DMZ

A DMZ is designed so that if someone gets in to a server in the DMZ they can't go anywhere else except the DMZ, its a locked area with very limited access to any other area of the network.

Opening up netbios between the LAN and the DMZ is pointless, you might as well move the servers out of the DMZ and keep them in the LAN if you want to access them that way.
