Astaro Licence

Hello,

What is the difference beetwen the free version and the commercial version of Astaro.

If I only want to use Astaro for protecting
the LAN of my society, can i use the free version ?

    I dont know what your society is... but if its a commercial institution you have to obtain a license after 30 days eval period.

    Please contact sales@astaro.com, they will provide you with pricing and further licensing information.

    Does it stop working after 30 days?
    I'm testing here right now and I'm really content with ASL, so if my boss says OK, I'm gonna buy a licence for about 50 ip's, but what happens if I use more than 50? Will things stop working, or am I just violating the license (and won't be able to use up2date)?

    I'm also interesting the license issue.

    If my network 60 IPs, but the concurrent connections is maximum 50 IPs, So it is ok that we only buy 50 IPs License or We have to buy 100 IPs License?

    I think someone of Astaro should clarify these clearly.

    Hi all,

    I strongly agree to that licence issues.
    Think Astaro people should give up that "go and contact sales ..." stuff and put a valid pricelist on their website instead. That should get some more transparency into this topic and avoid furthermore licensingquestion on the forum.

    Dont forget guys Astaro is in Germany and I have noticed that hardware ASL boxes are more expensive in the US then out of country.  Also ASL isn't a finished product its still in beta.   They have been getting more and more resellers so there market is changing.   When they finish ASL for the release I have no doubt you will see something on the web site

    You can request a quote from ASL they sent me a price list the next day no problem.  Just EMAIL them.

    hi guys,

    like many other fw-products, the amount of licenses needed is the number of devices being protected by ASL.
    some people will complain about why they should buy fw-licenses for network-printers ... . but the licenses are not so expensive (affordable prices for companies).

    Hi all,

    I had some contact with Astaro in Germany and with their reseller in the Netherlands and they're really friendly.
    So I don't really see what't the problem with the licences. Just give them a call.
