Getting Started Help...

Hi all,

I've been reading and reading, but I've not found the answer to my question in the notes, so I guess I'll ask it here....

I've just installed Astaro 2.0.

1. my default gateway is 205.215.200.1
2. My Astaro Inter IP is 192.168.2.1
3. My Astaro External IP is 205.215.200.7
4. I even have a DMZ IP address of 10.215.200.1

These numbers are close enough.....  [;)]

I can login to webadmin from Internal on a 192.168 box and External on any computer that see's the internet, but when I try to get internet on my 192.168 boxes behind Astaro, they can't see anything on the internet.

I know if I would read the instructions enough, I could figure this out, but it's not happing as of now.

Please help????

    enable masquerading (NETWORK/MASQUERADING)and use
    a filter (PACKET FILTER) allowing internal hosts accessing the internet.
    Second possibility would be to use the HTTP proxy,
    no extra filters will be nescessary.
    HTTP proxy uses port 8080.

    Thanks Ollion,

    I've got all that done, but I'm still not able to get internet from anything behind the firewall.  Do I have to setup the clients to use a http proxy on 8080?  

    What am I doing wrong?   [:(]

    Hi Jerry...

    Yes, you must Update your Client-Browsersettings when you run the HTTP-Proxy on Port 8080.
    When you enable the Transperant-Mode of your Proxy normaly no Clientconfiguration must changed.

    Do you added your Inerternal Network to Allowed networks of your HTTP-Proxy?

    I am having the exact same problem you have. I would take the time to figure it out if there was some documentation I could fallow. Unfortunately I dont read german. Can anyone suggest some good getting started docs.
