Stange performance problem.

Swapped the card out and the problem appeared to go away.  Now it appears to be back.  I will put a sniffer on the wire and see if I can identify the traffic.

Any ideas as to what on the asl box might be causing this amount of traffic?

    Very slow access to internet today

    Have DSL into hub, hub into ASL.  Nothing behind the ASL is powered on.  Plug into the hub a laptio. Without the ASL on ping times to yahoo avg about 20ms.  Plug in the ASL and the times leap to 2000-3000ms or just time out.

    Only basic NAT rules in place.  (A masq rule and a Internal ->Any-> any packet filter rule)  Everything else is out of the box.

    Rebooted, problem returns.
    Perhaps a bad nic?  I will replace the nic and see what happens.

    Any other suggestions?
