Hello!

Sorry for my question that doesn't exactly fit to this forum.
I use ASL 2.22 with pluspack and I also wanted to install Midnight Commander.
The compilation of MC worked without any problems, but when starting Midnight Commander following error message occurs:

"Screen size 0x0 is not supported" 
”Check the TERM environment variable”

Does anybody know how can make run the Midnight Commander?

    I am also trying to install MC.

    I tried this command: (as root) 
    rpm -ivh ftp.linux.cz/.../mc-4.6.1a-26.ker.rhel3.i386.rpm


    But I got this response: 
    Retrieving ftp.linux.cz/.../mc-4.6.1a-26.ker.rhel3.i386.rpm

    warning: /var/tmp/rpm-xfer.wHdEA1: Header V3 DSA signature: NOKEY, key ID 46b66bca

    error: Failed dependencies:

            dev >= 0:3.3-3 is needed by mc-4.6.1a-26.ker.rhel3.i386

    I am afraid of installing patches and updates to libraries that might mess up the core fuctionality of my 220.

    Anyone have some tips?

    First, this is BY FAR the most ruthless resurrection of a zombie thread I have EVER seen. Did you see the initial question was asked in February, 2002 for Version 2.2 ?

    Apart from the fact that I can't think up even one reason why you would need a file manager on a firewall (it's not like you could store your holiday pictures there), you were trying to install a RPM file belonging to a different linux distribution onto the ASG, which is not a good idea. Even if the RPM installation would have succeeded, it would have voided your support (Any modifications done by root will void your support).

    If you really, really need something graphical to browse through the file system, for whatever reason, I'd rather suggest leaving the ASG alone and use WinSCP instead.
