Workstations loose connection to ASL

Since installing ASL we have been having problems with workstations that generate high volumes of  traffic to the ASL box.

These station loose the connectivity to the ASL box and can't even ping ASL. If I wait about 15 minutes the connection comes back and I can get on the web again.

Other systems such as LAN servers don't loose the connection. And the workstation that lost connectivity to ASL has no problem connecting to LAN Servers.

Does anyone have any ideas what I should look for.

    I am having the same trouble myself.  I have a 5-port hub and a dsl modem.  The ASL box has 2-Nic cards both connected to the hub as well as the other 2 workstations using ASL.

    So let me get this straight, dont put 2 nic cards from the same computer into a hub.  

    Should I put one of the Nics attached to the ASL box directly into the DSL modem?

    Yes you should only have the Astaro Box connected to the DSL modem.  This is very important, one reason is as the other user stated you should not connect 2 nics from the same computer to the same hub.  Causes looping problems.  But also the astaro box should sit between the Internet and your internal network, otherwise it really is not protecting your internal systems.

    I did have my DMZ NIC (eth2) and the LAN NIC eth1 on the same hub. I unpluged the cable from the eth2 NIC to the hub and rebooted the box. Still had the same problem. Today I removed the third NIC from the ASL box and so far all is well. 

    I read in the archives that ASL had a problem with realtek cards. Has this been fixed I had the following config

    Realtek - LAN
    3Com WAN
    Realtek - DMZ

    I am going to try the DMZ with an SMC card if running wothout the DMZ works for a day or two.

    Thanks, I'm glad I got delayed. I will get an Intel card.

    I am currently using three new Realtek cards with no problems.
