/var/log filled up. Now its 70% full?

Hi, I got te following email last night:-

Subject: SelfMonitoring: Not enough space on harddisk! 

ALARM - not enough space: 
0% free - (0 kbyte) on device: /dev/hda3 - mounted on /var/log - 

SYSTEM HALT - ONLY CONSOLE ACCESS! 

Astaro Security Linux  2.019 

Yest when I rebooted the machine df looks like this:-

How come /var/log is not full anymore?
