ASL v2.019 - snmpd is running at 95% CPU - from looking in the forum archives this appears to be a common problem. Is there a solution, other than rebooting the system ?
I'm experiencing the same problem after upgrading to a new box. Same config as the old one, except the other was a dual CPU 550 and this is a single CPU 866. Other machine was SCSI based, this one is IDE. Old machine had 512MB RAM, this one has 256MB.
I've seen both snmpd and mdw_daemon.pl as runaway processes. I can reboot and things seem okay for a bit, but soon jump back to 100%.
On a side note, I notice that when I HUP the snmpd process, my memory usage goes from 224,000kb to 93213kb. Do we have a mem leak as well? I noticed the same thing on the old machine, that mem usage was always near peak.
