SelfMonitoring: swap usage to high(616 times)

Hello everybody!

I am recieving the following notify@"astaro-firewall server" messages. Any ideas?

SUBJECT: SelfMonitoring: swap usage to high(616 times)

    check which process needs too much RAM
    "ps axwfu", could be squid and if your firewall
    has to handle heavy traffic nacctd (accounting)could be possible, too.

    Thank you very much for reply. I am a little late, but it is better then never... 

    It is definately squid (http proxy). It consumes 
    54.2% of my swap space (MEM). Is there anything I can do without restarting the Astaro server? For example, restart squid, or maybe there is a perminent patch for that (like get more ram  [:)]  )

    I have the same problem...

    I´ve made a system update and have restarted the astaro...

    tomorrow i will see if the error message is gone

    Hello again,

    restarting the firewall makes no sense at all because
    squid fetches the memory again because of its
    cache size. Squid needs per stored object round
    about 100 byte of RAM - 
    There are two solutions:

    1. Clear the cache to start from the scratch
     -Stop Squid within WebAdmin
     -go to /var/chroot-squid/var/squid/cache
      and delete the whole directory structure
      before you enter "rm -rf *" make sure that
      you are in the right directory    [;)]  
     -Start Squid within WebAdmin again

    2. Get more RAM

    Hello,

    another solution is to disable the caching-functionality of squid (if it`s possible).
    A side-effect is, that by diabling caching you always get actual objects from the internet ...  [;)]
