plug and play IP network?

What would it take to have asl do this. I am interested in this as I do broadband in hotels and apartment complexes.

    to me the "easy access" thing sounds pretty marketing driven, I wonder what the technology really does.

    If the patent-pending technology "No Configuration of IP Addresses, Subnets or Gateways" is DHCP [;)] you should have no problems realizing the same with Astaro 3 (coming Q1 next year, beta available already).

    But maybe I am wrong. One would definitely have to learn more about the product than the marketing flyer says. Please tell us, if you continue with the evaluation.

          I have a few products that i can buy off the shelf that are based on the 2.2 and 2.4 kernel. But they are not low cost/or are designed for wireless netoworks. They don't support the mtu/mdu market space. 

    If i am correct you are saying that in version 3 of asl i will be able to do this?

    Also will astaro be willing to look into a product that gears towards the wireless public internet access / with the features that i have told you in my original post.

    I do broadband in hotels and apartment complexes and won't mind working with the asl guys to build a plug and play product that is open source as i have quite a few ideas. I am not a devloper but a sys admin by trade. Please contact me personally if you get a chance.

    I have done internet access in hotels and executive suites. I have found they always want all computers to be invisable to each other. This would mean you would need to segment the network so netbios broadcasts are not seen by all computers. In order to do this you to setup VLANS using some good switch gear. I then would use ASL on the main VLAN trunk for Internet access.
