Hi,
ASL seems like an interesting firewall/router, and I'd like to hear if it can to what I need. (or use an acceptable workaround or tweak)
1:
As I've understood from the forum posts it does not currently support pppoe, but this is to come in next version?
2:
IPv6 is there currently support or plans for support in near future? What i need is to set up a 6to4 tunnel to one of the many brokers, and then let each machine on the inside (private ipv4 range) have at least one global ipv6 ip that are routet trough the firewall.
3:
How would outgoing FTP work behind it? Would I have to use a socks proxy and a socks cabable client or pasive FTP or would it understand which computer the incomming data connection should go to?
4:
Pretty much same as above but with DCC?
5:
Partly same as above but with identd.
Since there are several machines going out it wouldn't work to add a dnat entry to port 113 on the inside computer (since all computers would get the current user's ident no mather who/what they are)
If someone could answer or try to answer these questions I would appreciate it.
Sincerly,
Espen A. Stromme
