cable modem stops, starts

I recently installed Astaro and all has gone relatively smoothly. Only problem I'm having is this: If I'm downloading something that takes more than a few seconds (something somewhat sizeable), the cable modem PC light (the light that indicates if it has a connection to the pc or not) will turn off for ~2 seconds, then turn on, then repeat back and forth until finally it's done downloading. This then takes twice as long to d/l something. Browsing web pages doesn't have this effect on it. Any ideas? Is it some software related issue or hardware? Thanks in advance.

hi,

it seems to be a hardware issue - check the settings of your nics (half / full duplex, 10/100 MBit/s , autonegotiation, ...).

They're supposed to be all auto sensing. They're Olicom 2326's. There's not a jumper on them, PCI. This is really annoying, anyone else have any ideas or do they have software configs for these type of NICs?

Michael was right, I swapped out those silly Olicoms (for some reason all Olicoms like to turn off and on, some crappy NICs) for a coupla other NICs and works like a charm.
