I need PPPoE Support

I just changed ISP's and now I am stuck with this crappy pppoe login to get an IP. I would like my astaro box to be the machine to connect directly to the net and not other less-secure machines. 

Are there packages that I can download and install on the astaro box in order to get it to login via pppoe? 

If so will it be able to masqurade or snat from that connection?

    With ASL 2.0, you have to hack it to get PPPoE support. Check out docs.astaro.org

    Ok, That helps me a little bit but I am still confused as to how to get that file over to my astaro box without it being able to get on the internet. I must be typing somthing wrong in order to login via ssh cause I can't but even from the console I can't get the floppy drive mounted.

    Another question is: When package installed what will the webadmin configuration look like? Or will I have to configure dnat and masqurading manually?

    you have to logon via ssh with the username "loginuser" and the PW you specified at the install routine.
    once you're logged in you can "su -" to root and do everything you want!

    Download the packedges you want to install on your workstation, burn em on a cd, boot up you FirewallPC with a Linux distribution of choice and start it in rescue mode.
    Now you can mount the Partitions and the cdrom and copy the files on your system!

    to configure the new services you have to edit their config files via ssh or at the firewalls console itself (RTFM before).

    since you need no masquerading at the PPPoE NIC you can config your LAN NIC with masquearding or whatever just as normal via WebAdmin

    What types of dsl modems are supported by this hack? I am able to get the lights to blink but that is it. 

    If I do acctually get logged in via pppoe, what do I need to set the ip of the external nic to be in webadmin?

    Of course rather than using a CD-ROM to get the files across you can use SCP to copy them. There are SCP clients for Windows, so it might be easier to get the files downloaded on your Widnows PC and use WinSCP to copy them across. 

    SCP is also accessable on the ASL command line (type scp to run it...)
