Help installing hack

Let me start on by saying I am new to linux in general.  My main goal is to ditch all of my windows based firewall  and get some linux (or linux based) firewalls for obvious reasons. 

I have a PPPoE connection which means I have to install that hack listed in this site for ASL.  Problem is I have no idea how?  If anyone gets a sec to explain that would be GREAT.

    currently I am trying to get the file onto the ASL box with no luck...

    I keep getting bad passwords even though I only have 1 i used during install...   

    Also I have been talking with a lot of linux professional users and they have no idea how to install that hack so anyone out there who can help please let me know.. I really want to start using this software

    I am not certain if it's the solution, but have you tried using the user "loginuser" when doing the scp?

    If you try root or admin, I don't think they are allowed to logon to the system on the console, nor by scp.

    So, from some other linux or windows machine, you'd type: scp chroot-pppoe.tar.gz loginuser@:/tmp

    There is a program for windows called WinSCP. Try a search on google and you will find it. Download it to a windows workstation in your local LAN. Use it to log into astaro as loginuser, and upload the file to there. Then, SSH to ASL, su and unpack the tar file and install it.
