feature request: pppd for modem, ISDN & ADSL

Hi!

As many ppl can't (or don't want to) run a dedicated router and a firewall, it would be cool to have a ppp-daemon, supporting serial Modems, ISDN and ADSL, on ASL and funcions like dial on demand, keep line alife, etc.

This would be cool... PPPD modem is possible... there is some discussion on this in the HACKERS forum.

Takes some work to get it going though... A real pain since files are missing etc... also it is a custom hack meaning you are lost if the hard drive crashes

Well ... the packages for using asl as an ADSL/Modem router are downloadable at http://docs.astaro.org/hacking/ .
Installation & configuration is quite easy, but I miss the feature doing this or monitoring the ppp-status via WebAdmin. [;)]

So that was why I posted the request.
