Very High Disk Usage

Hi,

My 2.0 eval machine has a strange problem. Over the weekend i found it had shut itself down.

When i started it back up, there is a very large amount of disk activity, then the machine shuts down after about 5 mins. This happened a few times.

After removing the cable from the External NIC, the disk access stops after a while, and the machine appears fine. There is no more traffic then normal going through this connection.

If i plug it back in, it will sit there for hours with the hard drive light on constantly, crunching away, though so far it hasn't shut down today.

Apart from that the box works fine (though is slow because of all of the disk activity).
CPU and network traffic graphs are the same they have allways been - no sudden increase.

Any idea what may be hapenning? If you need any more info, please ask.
