SCP w/ www.ssh.com Utility

When I try to use the SSH utility for Win32 from www.ssh.com to scp files, I get an error stating that it could not open a secure file transfer session. The SSH command line terminal window works fine but I cannot SCP. WinSCP works OK but I'd like to use the www.ssh.com program. Does it have something to do with "loginuser"? If so, is there a way to add root to the list of users permitted to SSH top the box?

Hi Eric,

did you try a ssh (scp) connect to root?
For security reasons this will not work! You can change this in []i/etc/sshd_config[/i] - but i will never recommend this!

Initially I did it as loginuser and it failed so I tried root even though I knew it wouldn't work. The app works fine on my Redhat box. I can't figure out why ASL doesn't work...and it's just the SCP portion of the app that doesn't work.

Hi eaustin,

the SSH utility from www.ssh.com uses sftp to transfer files and not scp.

We didn't add the sftp subsystem to the sshd server on astaro.

By the way do you know putty and pscp it is a gpl windows ssh and scp client for windows.

I prefer this one.
